Ice Team Pro Staff
Dave Genz
Rarely is a true pioneer fully appreciated in his time. But Dave Genz, because he so thoroughly changed the way all of us fish through the ice, has been recognized for his vision and accomplishments while he is still adding to them.
He is the first to point out that friends have contributed support and ideas along the way. But the clear leader of the movement that modernized ice fishing is Dave Genz.
Matt Johnson
Ice fishing season runs 12 months a year in Matt Johnson’s mind, something you might be able to relate to. Still a young man, Matt has been guiding ice anglers since 2003. His goal, always, is to share his knowledge with others, to help them gain a better understanding of ice fishing– not just to catch fish today, but to keep catching fish, consistently, from this day forward.
Scott & Kody Seibert
If you press this father-and-son team, you might get them to admit they love pursuing big bluegills best. But their ice-fishing credentials extend to many species, and many places. The ingredient common in both Seiberts is a blend of experience, determination and love of the sport that leads them from the edge of the lake to a successful outing.
Jim Hudson
It takes a special spirit of adventure, along with a combination of experience and confidence, to tackle ice fishing on the Great Lakes, and Jim Hudson has this elusive blend.
While operating Hudson’s On The Spot Guide Service, Jim has perfected a set of skills for finding fish on big waters, and for catching them out of truly deep water. Imagine dealing with underwater currents that pull lures out of the cone angle of a Vexilar, and trying to maintain feel in waters from 60 to more than 100 feet deep, and you picture Jim Hudson’s average day at the office. We can all learn the tricks of tackling these challenges from Hudson.
Don Cox
There are definitely more ‘animals’ than people out where Don Cox lives, in the sandhills of western Nebraska. The region is also home to bountiful ice fishing waters, from shallow sandhills lakes to stock dams and farm ponds. Don and his sons are experienced ice anglers, having long ago embraced the modern ice fishing revolution. Don began traveling to fish in Trap Attack competitions back in 2002, which has allowed him to develop a perspective that only traveling can bring. Don has a gift for insightful problem solving that you will come to enjoy and learn from.
